2012 Vacation Bible School - Register Today!

VBS~ July 16-20, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  Registration begins Monday, May 1st.  To register, please fill out a registration form and mail into the church with the $10 fee. Please be sure to fill out a form for each child, this helps with our paperwork. VBS Registration Form 2012 . Sign Up Today for our Summer Food Service Program at Pineville Elementary ~ June 14-Aug. 15th — VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We are in need of several volunteers to help with the Summer Food Service Program at Pineville Elementary, approved as a summer food service site hosted by Harrison UMC’s Backpack Ministry leaders – The Chittendens.  Help us to reach students who rely on free breakfast and lunch during the school year and are in danger of going hungry over the summer vacation.  This program will provide summer free lunches for all children 18 years and younger.  No qualifications, all who come through the doors will be fed.   Lunch is from 11:30 am to 1pm, Monday through Friday,  June 14 thru Aug. 15.  We need volunteers for 2 hours per day for a day or multiple days.  PLEASE HELP!!  To sign up, go to: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0A4EA8A92CA57-volunteers  (Recommend that you print a copy of the instructions below. A copy of the instructions is attached for easy printing). 

1. Click on the above link to SignUpGenius.  This link will take you to the sign-up page with “SFSP PINEVILLE VOLUNTEERS”  to the right of the picture at the top.  This page has a table that gives “DATE” and “AVAILABLE SLOT” for each day with a volunteer opening during the summer program. 2. Select the date you want to volunteer and click “Sign  Up”. 3. The next page is also titled “SFSP PINEVILLE VOLUNTEERS”.  The box at the top should show the date you selected. In the “My Comment” white box to the right please enter a phone number where you can best be reached.  Please leave the “Qty” at “1″. If you want to sign up for another person, that’s fine, just enter their name as a separate entry 4.  On the same page, Click the box next to “I don’t want an account……..”. 5. Then in the white area next to “Your Name”, please enter your first and last name so we can keep track of who has signed up. 6.  Click “Sign Up”. 7.  This will take you to a “Thank You” page, if you want to sign up for more days, click on “Return to
Sign Up” and repeat steps 2 to 7. 8.  You’re done!  Thank you.  When you go back to the Sign Up page, you should see your name and phone number entered for each date you selected.

See "Courageous" FREE on May 18th ~ Family Movie Night at Harrison UMC

Join us for a free showing of the movie “COURAGEOUS” at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 18th, at Harrison United Methodist Church, 15008 Lancaster Highway, Pineville, NC 28134.  FREE admittance.  Bring your family and friends! Hot dogs, popcorn, and drinks will be available for a nominal fee to cover costs only. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The movie will start at 7 p.m. We also will offer Bible study groups for men and couples. Sign up after the movie! Come, join us!! Basic Early Response Training ~ Saturday, May 19th

will be offered for those interested in assisting following any type of natural disaster. Completion of the class will allow receipt of an UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) photo ID badge, which is recognized by FEMA to enter areas needing assistance.   Saturday, May 19th - Room 101, Bldg. 100.  From 9 a.m. ~ 5 p.m. ~ Cost: $40 (includes lunch). Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry Collection Sunday, May 20th

On Sunday, May 20th, Harrison Church Loaves & Fishes will be collecting food for the pantry before each worship service. Needs: Canned corn and canned fruit. We also will be collecting this items during the week of May 13-20– Pease deposit them in our bins inside the entrances of the Plummer Building (#100) or Hammill Hall (#400) during this time.
