CLASSES

Growing spiritually is an important part of a Christian’s life and we encourage everyone to be involved in a small group study where they are growing in their knowledge and relationship with God.  There are many opportunities to be a part of a small group study at Harrison Church.

We will be offering a Financial Peace University class beginning July 12th through September 6th at 6:30 p.m.  Click here  to register for the FPU class.

Class 101  MAKING SENSE OF THE BIBLE

Tuesday evenings, 7 to 9 p.m.  Course starts Tuesday, June 13 for 7 weeks – Facilitator: Jan Zenner

In Making Sense of the Bible, Adam Hamilton invites us into an honest conversation about the Bible. The book begins with foundational questions such as, How and when was the Bible written? Who decided which books made it into the scriptures and why? How literally must we read it? And, Is the Bible ever wrong?  From there, Hamilton considers the real questions people frequently ask that continue to divide Christians and denominations alike.  In approachable and inviting language, Hamilton addresses often misunderstood biblical themes leading readers to a deeper appreciation of the Bible so that we might hear God speak through it and find its words to be life-changing and life-giving.  Book cost: $10.00

Class 123: Faith, Food, and Fitness.

Wednesday evenings, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  Course starts Wednesday, June 28  for 8 weeks – Facilitator: Lara Hall

This class will teach: mini habits, habit stacking, healthy eating, movement and meditation.  We will start by creating a foundation around mini habits to overcome willpower and motivation issues and how to “stack” small, 5 minute habits to create a healthier lifestyle.  We will learn different Christian meditation techniques, different meal prep techniques (soups, salads, smoothies, and main meals) using clean eating recipes that can be modified for a food intolerance or special diets.  We will also learn different exercise techniques to create a more active lifestyle based on Christian yoga (for flexibility), walking (for cardio), and exercise bands (for resistance training).

Cost – Free but you may want to purchase recommended items on your own

We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan! This 9-week class teaches God’s ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could be.
