CLASSES

Growing spiritually is an important part of a Christian’s life and we encourage everyone to be involved in a small group study where they are growing in their knowledge and relationship with God.  There are many opportunities to be a part of a small group study at Harrison Church.

We will be running a Financial Peace University class beginning July 12th through September 6th at 6:30 p.m.  Click here  to register for the FPU class. For childcare registrations, please click here.

We will begin registration for other summer classes during May and June – keep a look out for the brochure in the Sunday morning bulletin.

Small Group Bible Studies

We offer some Small Group Bible Studies seasonally in the fall, winter and summer.  These Bible studies are usually between 6 and 12 weeks in duration and are offered on campus at different times and days.  They are advertised through the church newsletter, website and bulletin inserts.  We focus on 4 areas:

  • Theology  – knowledge of God and the Bible.
  • Discipleship – how to live out your Christian faith.
  • Piety – how to grow in the application of your faith.
  • Mercy – how to live out your faith through service.

Registration for the Summer 2017 Bible studies is in process. Descriptions of some of the classes is given below –  others will be added in the next few weeks.  To register for the classes, click here.  Childcare is available for all of the classes offered at Harrison Church.  Click here to register for childcare.

101: Making Sense of the Bible – Join Jan Zenner on Tuesday evenings, starting June 13th, at 7 p.m. for this 7-week study.

In Making Sense of the Bible, Adam Hamilton invites us into an honest conversation about the Bible. The book begins with foundational questions such as, How and when was the Bible written? Who decided which books made it into the scriptures and why? How literally must we read it? And, Is the Bible ever wrong?  From there, Hamilton considers the real questions people frequently ask that continue to divide Christians and denominations alike.  In approachable and inviting language, Hamilton addresses often misunderstood biblical themes leading readers to a deeper appreciation of the Bible so that we might hear God speak through it and find its words to be life-changing and life-giving.  Book cost: $10.00

222: Financial Peace University Join Pastor Shane on  Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. starting Wednesday, July 12th, for this 9-week class on finances that is practical, entertaining and  fun!  Whether you are struggling to make ends meet or you’re a millionaire, FPU has something for you.  This study is based on over 800 verses of Scripture and is a proven plan that will work for you.  Click here to register for the class on the FPU website and purchase the materials you will need for the class.

Life Groups

Life Groups are small groups of people doing life together – they meet either weekly or bi-weekly for fellowship and Bible study.  They care for one another when needs arise and serve together.  Life groups are safe places to ask questions and express doubts about God as you grow in your faith journey.  Life groups can be organized by friendships, geographically, by stage of life or gender.  Questions? Contact Anita King.
