YOUTH (6th – 12th Grades)

Harrison Church has an active and thriving youth community. Our youth ministry seeks to journey with youth in their walk with Jesus Christ and to guide them in being a long-life disciple of Jesus Christ.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School Class meets on the second floor of  Plummer Administrative / Education building from 11:00am until 12:00pm. Our classes focus on helping youth learn about God, the church and other issues that face youth today.

Youth Fellowship

On Sunday evenings from 5:00pm until 7:00pm youth gather in the multi-purpose room on the second floor of the Plummer Administrative / Education building. Time begins with a meal ranging from pizza to chicken tenders. We then have time for ice breakers and games that will actually point to the lesson of the evening. The lesson begins with a large group discussion followed by small group discussions between Middle School and High School.

Once a month Youth Fellowship has a time of pure fun that might include bowling, laser tag, a movie night or just an evening full of games.

Confirmation is offered to 8th grade youth and older and is a time for youth to make firm their commitment to being a disciple of Jesus Christ. Confirmation begins on December 3 with classes being held at 11:00am on Sunday mornings on the second floor of the Plummer Administrative / Educational Building. Lessons focus on church history, questions about God, and what a commitment to Jesus Christ means for us in our daily lives. Confirmation also includes an overnight retreat.

Ski Retreat 2018

February 9-11, 2018 | Winterplace, WV

All youth grades 6-12 are invited to join us on our annual ski retreat to the Winterplace Ski Resort in West Virginia for a weekend of fun and fellowship. You may ski, snowboard or tube. Even if you don’t ski, youth are invited to join us for the weekend as we will have more than just skiing, boarding or tubing.

We will be staying in a house that is located on the slopes, so you can ski in and out of the house without the hassle of finding the designated table in the ski lodge. This lodging also give us the opportunity to make our own meals and spend time with one another in one area instead of being in separate hotel rooms.

Our theme for the weekend is called, “Let’s Go!” It is a study that challenges youth to respond to God’s call.

The Critical 411

The cost covers activities, transportation, lodging, and most meals. Money will be needed for dinner on the way up and any extra purchases youth will make.

We will leave from the church parking lot on Friday, Feb. 9, at 5pm. The trip is approximately 3 1/2 hours.

We will return on Sunday, Feb. 11, around the lunch hour.
