Now Accepting Crafters/Vendors For our Oct. 2nd Harrison Fall Festival

The opportunity to show your wares is winding down. Registration is now open through Sept. 25 for vendors and crafters for our Oct. 2nd Harrison Fall Festival. Spaces are limited. The Festival will be from10-4 p.m. The fee to be a part is $10 (payable to Harrison Fall Festival) plus a $25 value new item donation toward the Silent Auction. Meet us on Wednesdays for Mid-Week Worship

All Hands On Deck . . . and tools ~ whatever it takes to get the church spruced up before our Fall Festival when we expect hundreds of visitors from the community on our campus. The Healthy Chef is Here Again ~ Wednesday, Sept. 29

Kim Veith, our resident nutritionist, will be presenting healthy ways to cook, using a low-fat method. This will be presented from 7:45-9 p.m. in Hammill Hall kitchen on the last Wednesday each month: Sept. 29 and Oct. 27. Please call Kathleen Cooper at 803-753-1285 to reserve your spot.

School Back Pack Mission Begins ~ Items Needed

The Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry School Back Pack Mission will again provide food items to supplement breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday for children in need at Indian Land Elementary School. Each backpack includes 2 items for: breakfast and lunch items and 2 of each: salty snacks, fruit, treats, and juice boxes. We are now accepting donations for this “Backpack” mission. All items must be individual size servings. Needs: Mac & Cheese (3/4 cup or 7.5oz packet), Individual Cereal Boxes (25 to 30g), Pop Tarts, Bean Weenie (easy open 7.75 oz cans), Breakfast Cereal or Granola bars, and Treats (Cookies, Rice Krispie Treats). If you would like to get on an “as need” distribution list, please contact Rudy Chittenden at rudy_chittenden@yahoo.com for more information. Backpack donations may be placed in the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry bins in Bldg 100 Reception and in Hammill Hall. Thank you for your assistance.

Harrison Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry: Volunteers Needed

Operating Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays; 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: If you feel the need to serve, please email Dawn Bruner at dbruner1@carolina.rr.com with dates that you would like to serve. We try to have 3-4 volunteers per shift to ensure coverage for greeting, pulling the order, packing and assisting with stocking etc.

Harrison UMC’s Women’s Fall Retreat: Reflections of GRACE ~ The women of Harrison Church will be heading to the Crows Nest at Lutherock, Sept. 24-26. Join us. Together, we will learn about God’s Grace and what it means to each of us. Cost: $105 per person with a non-refundable deposit of $50 due at the time of registration. Tickets will go on sale starting Sunday, Aug. 29, thru Sept. 12 after each service. Payment plans and scholarships are available.
