Todd E. Carrouth (TEC) was an active member of HUMC and also involved in many community activities in the in the Fort Mill, SC area. Todd died on January 22, 2001 of cancer and left behind a wife and 2 young daughters. While Todd was a layman, he was truly a “Minister” in every sense of the word. Todd had positive impact on everyone he touched. Through Todd’s life (and his death) he taught those around him the true meaning of faith, trust and friendship.
This foundation is a way to continue Todd’s ministry and help spread the word of Christ through Todd’s memory.

Congratulations to the following individuals who have been awarded the scholarships for the 07-08 school year:
Brian Gronewoller lives in Pinehurst NC. He ministers to middle and high school kids with Young Life. He shares the gospel with young people who have not yet made a decision to follow Christ and also disciples those who have made a commitment to Christ. In his theological studies his goals are: to continue to cultivate his personal relationship with Christ and to be prepared to teach others with a high level of integrity.
Matthew McGarity lives in Clover SC. He is a husband, father of four and works in construction. He has sensed a call of God to fulltime ministry. To prepare for that ministry he has enrolled in Gordon-Conwell Seminary in Charlotte. His passion is for evangelism. One of the ways that he is able to use his evangelistic gift is through his ministry as a volunteer chaplain at a local jail.
Meredith McDaniel is from Hickory NC and is studying counseling at Gordon-Conwell. Her desire is to gain a spiritual foundation to counsel families and help them sort through the struggles of life and point them to Jesus in the process. She is on staff with a Christian ministry that strives to model Jesus to high school students.
Mike Beachy said at one time, “I don’t know if there’s a God.” God led Mike to a personal experience with Christ and eventually into the ministry. Through various churches and ministries God has taught and worked through Mike. Since he has come to minister at Harrison he has felt a need for more theological training and thus begun studying for his Masters of Divinty degree.
Godspeed to Brian, Matthew, Meredith and Mike.
