Who does Loaves & Fishes serve?
We meet the basic hunger needs of people in our community by providing access to nutritious food.
How does Loaves & Fishes serve ?
Loaves & Fishes provides a week’s worth of nutritious groceries to individuals and families in a short-term crisis. In 2013, Loaves & Fishes provided groceries to 78,602 people throughout Charlotte at 17 pantries. Loaves and Fishes believes that access to nutritious food is a fundamental human right.
Therefore, we are guided by the following core values:

- Stewardship: We efficiently leverage donated resources and volunteer time to further the mission of Loaves & Fishes.
- Collaboration: We will work with a diverse group of organizations, public and private, to ensure optimal service to our clients and to avoid duplication of services in our community.
Where and when does Loaves & Fishes serve?
Every Tuesday and Thursday, we serve clients between 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in Bldg. 300 at Harrison UMC.
What opportunities are open for new volunteers who want to try serving with Loaves & Fishes and how do they get connected?
Loaves & Fishes needs weekly volunteers to rotate on/off the calendaring to ensure we have ability to serve the clients who arrive.
Please send an email expressing interest to Loaves and Fishes . We will give you important information about available dates to serve. We are always interested in new volunteers.
