Since 1994, Faith Ministry has been meeting the basic needs of families along the boarder of Mexico in the areas of housing, community wellness, education and empowerment, and spiritual growth. Faith Ministry uses the starfish* story as a cornerstone for their ministry, aiming to make a difference, one at a time. A HUMC volunteer team is currently forming. This team will travel to Reynosa Mexico, November 10th – 16th, 2024 partnering with Faith Ministry to help with housing, community wellness, education & empowerment, and spiritual growth.

*The Starfish Story: A father and son walked up a shore littered with thousands od starfish, beached and dying after a storm. The was picking them up and flinging them back into the ocean. “Why do you bother?” the father scoffed. “There’s too many; you can’t begin to make a difference.” The son picked up another starfish and sent it spinning back into the water.
“Made a difference to that one,” he said.
