Prayer: Launching from the Foundation of Jesus

Scripture Focus : Hebrews 1:2, 5, 8

Our prayer life is the bedrock of our relationship with Jesus, shaping the way we connect with God and engage with the world. Hebrews reminds us of the foundational reality of Jesus as the “Son,” emphasizing the deep, intimate relationship He shares with God. It’s intriguing that the name “Jesus” isn’t used until later in Hebrews 2:9, but His identity as the Son is foundational to everything we believe and practice.

In our own lives, this foundational principle urges us to center our prayers on this deep familiarity with Jesus. We’re called to enter into a conversational relationship with Him, one that is rooted in the knowledge of who He is and what He has done for us. This isn’t just about saying the right words; it’s about launching every aspect of our lives from the unshakable foundation of Christ. Our ability to be good stewards—of our time, talents, and treasures—begins with this foundational relationship.

As we continue to grow in our prayer lives, let’s commit to grounding ourselves in this deep connection with Jesus. Let’s approach Him with a heart that’s ready to listen, to converse, and to be transformed by His love. This is the foundation from which all true stewardship flows, and it’s the foundation upon which we must build our lives.

Prayer: ”Lord, You are the foundation upon which we build our lives. Though Your name may not always be spoken, Your presence is felt in every breath, in every moment of our day. As we enter into prayer, may we be drawn into deeper intimacy with You, recognizing You as the Son who shares in the fullness of God. Ground us in this truth, that our prayers may flow from a place of deep familiarity and unwavering trust. Let our connection with You be the starting point for all we do, reminding us that our stewardship is rooted in the strength and grace we receive from You.

Amen
